Hey, Tommy the track bike sommelier here. I wanted to share my thoughts on the Garden City.<\/p>\n

When putting force to the pedals, they roll forward smoothly. It’s not stiff and it slowly catches speed. To wheelie, you’ll need to put a lot of weight towards the back. Skidding feels a bit awkward at first, but it feels really good once you get the hang of it. You can stretch it out pretty far.<\/p>\n

You can really feel how well the heat-treated triple-butted tubing performs. This Richey original high-spec chromoly tubing is both sturdy and lightweight, it\u2019s pretty much a game-changer.<\/p>\n

The 55mm BB drop is very intriguing to me!<\/p>\n

(Here are the BB drop on other track frames for your reference : UNVER Rapid\/54mm, AFFINITY Kissena\/55mm, MASH AC & STEEL\/54mm)<\/p>\n

Even though the BB is set a bit high, the bike doesn\u2019t feel flimsy. I think that\u2019s probably thanks to the slightly longer top tube and the 45mm fork offset, which is on the larger side for a stock track frame, resulting in a design with a longer front center.<\/p>\n

The fork, with its aluminum steerer tube and carbon blades, feels solid, and the steering offers just the right amount of stiffness, or rather, a nice, sporty feel, which makes it a lot of fun to ride.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m the kind of person who loves pairing a carbon fork with a steel frame, so the fact that Ritchey offers this as standard set up makes me super stoked.<\/p>\n

On top of the carbon fork, it also comes standard with a high-spec WCS headset, so it feels like a great deal.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s definitely a track bike, but I guess you could say it has more of an \u201curban\u201d vibe than a \u201cstreet\u201d if you know what I mean.<\/p>\n

Rather than riding it aggressively, it just feels so good to zip around. It\u2019s the kind of bike that makes you want to take unnecessary detours.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s got a bit of a road bike feel to it, too, so I bet it would work great with a freewheel and drop bars. The slim chromoly frame gives it a classic look at first glance, but it\u2019s actually a fully-specced, modern steel bike.<\/p>\n

Fergus is amazing! You can really tell it was made by someone who\u2019s crazy about bikes. I borrowed Tara’s bike to give it a try, and I was like, \u201cWow this thing is fun\u201d<\/p>\n

This is a track bike for grown-ups!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s really growing on me.
