This review is mainly for those of you who picked up the first batch of Motion Pants (sold around December 2025 to January 2026), liked them, and are now thinking about grabbing another pair. As always, thanks so much for the support.
I wrote about them before, but ever since I got my first pair from the first batch (Sage / size L), I’ve been wearing the heck out of them.
I seriously love these pants, and they’ve been through the wringer plenty of times by which I mean the brutal world of my washing machine at home but they still haven’t gone all limp and floppy on me.
Then the second batch showed up in March 2026. Honestly, I was surprised how quickly they came back.
So naturally I thought, “Alright, maybe I need another color.”
I tried them on again, and noticed a few things had changed since the first batch.
So this time, I’m reviewing those changes mainly for anyone thinking about buying a second pair.
Movement
Even more room around the thighs = even more freedom to move.
They were already known for being super easy to move around in, but the second batch feels even less restrictive.
The fabric itself hasn’t changed, so this is all down to the little adjustments from our sewing team. Nice work as always.
Fit
The silhouette feels roomier overall, and the length seems a little longer too.
Here’s a comparison between how they fit before and now:
1st batch, size L (left / Sage) vs. 2nd batch, size L (right / Charcoal) — I’m 170cm tall.
I’m wearing high-tops in one photo and low-tops in the other, and I also forgot to tighten the drawcords at the hems, so this isn’t exactly the most scientific comparison… but you get the idea.
If you’re thinking, “Come on, amateur move,” I’m sorry. I normally just leave the drawcords tied all the time, so naturally I forgot about them when trying these on.
It’s subtle, but I think you can see that even in the same size, the new batch falls a little looser around the legs.
Basically, you can think of the new batch as being just a little bigger than the previous one.
New features 🆕
Zipper, belt buckle, and button added!
This is pretty big news.
The belt now uses a quick-release buckle, so you can pop it open with one touch. It separates completely into two pieces too, which might actually make it more convenient than a regular belt.
And honestly, having a zipper makes a huge difference.
The first batch didn’t open at the front, so getting them on and off was, to be blunt, kind of a pain.
If you were stuck between two sizes last time, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people went with the larger size for that reason alone.
That issue is gone now, so even if you go with your true size, they’re much easier to get on and off.
That’s actually why I went with a size L in the first batch.
But if I wanted the same kind of fit and overall look this time around, I’d probably consider going down to a size M.
Then again, I kinda like the roomier feel and silhouette of the new L too… so knowing me, I’ll probably just buy the L again.
