Gray components are a go-to of mine for adding some depth to the monochrome palette of bikes, where silver and black are the main collors.
Paul Component’s Pewter components go without saying, but I also often find myself recommending the MX-2 in Pewter, the DURA-ACE track chainring, and ESI grips.
To celebrate BLUE LUG’s 20th anniversary, we had none other than THOMSON create this special collection of gray Cerakote components for us.
And now, we have the “Traffic Gray” series from Thomson, which they created for our 20th anniversary.
The smooth matte gray finish parts were a love at first sight. I got them as soon as they came in. I’m so happy to get a new look on a bike that I rode and tinkered a lot.
I’d love to see more cool chemistry with frame colors and these matte gray Thomson parts along the way.
The special BLUE LUG 20th logo is laser-etched into each piece. Believe it or not, apparently the equipment at Thomson is a little old-school and could only produce this retro word-processor-style font. A charming little story that gives you a glimpse into the brand’s long history!
